About the Club

The Forest Lions Junior AFL Club was founded in 1969, originally as the Forest Districts Australian Football Club Inc. Today we are proud members of the Sydney Northside Junior AFL Competition, taking on clubs from across Sydney’s North Shore and North West.

In 2019 we celebrated our 50th season and we have not slowed down since. The family-friendly, community-first culture that built the club still runs through everything we do. Our retention rate from Auskick through to U17s is among the highest in the region, because the kids genuinely have fun.

What we offer

Auskick. A well-structured introduction to AFL for boys and girls aged 5 to 7, built around the kind of game-based activities kids love.

Junior Boys, U8 to U17. AFL football graded into divisions to keep games safe, competitive and enjoyable at every level.

Youth Girls AFL. Since 2024 our girls’ teams align with the boys structure: U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17.

AFL Players Nights. During the 2026 season we will host special evenings with AFL players coming down for a training session.

Club awards

In 2012 and 2014 we won the prestigious GSJAFL Club of the Year award, scored by visiting clubs and umpires across categories including conduct, facilities, professionalism and general sportsmanship.

Our most recent on-field highlight was the 2025 U12 Division 1 premiership, with that side now undefeated for three seasons running.
