Founded in 1969, the Forest Lions Junior AFL Club is one of the oldest junior AFL club on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and a proud part of the local sporting community. For more than 50 years we have provided a welcoming, family-friendly environment where young players can learn the game, play with their mates and
develop a lifelong love of Australian Football.
Our focus is simple: fun, participation and development.
This approach has helped the Forest Lions build one of the strongest player retention rates in the region, with many players progressing through the club from their first kick in Auskick right through to our Under 17 teams.
A Pathway for Boys and Girls
The Forest Lions offer a complete junior football pathway for players of all abilities.
-
Auskick (U5–U7): A fun and structured introduction to AFL where boys and girls learn the fundamentals of the game.
-
Junior Football (U8–U11): A non-competitive program focused on learning the game, building skills and playing with friends in age-based teams.
-
Junior Football (U12–U17): Competitive age-based teams where players continue to develop their skills while playing for points, ladders and finals.
Development and Club Culture
All Forest Lions coaches are trained and accredited, with a strong focus on game-based learning that builds skills, confidence and teamwork. Players are encouraged to try their best, improve each week and enjoy the
experience of being part of a team.
